The Role
As our Scrum Master at CentralNic, you will work with our Software Engineering Teams to support their Agile journey and optimise ways of working. While coaching the teams and living the Agile values, we expect you to leverage best practices and adapt accordingly to the business and team needs.
In this role, you will be working closely with the Engineers and Product Owners, as well as wider business stakeholders from Product Management, Commercial, Marketing and Customer Support teams. Furthermore, you will work closely with your Scrum Master colleagues to push forward the adoption of Agile working practices, providing support and training materials and being the experts for our wider business teams.
This is an exciting position for someone who is a hands-on problem solver and team player who loves to work with distributed teams located in multiple time zones. This role will ideally be based in Germany, France or the UK, however we are working remotely at the moment but will be taking a hybrid approach post-pandemic.
Key outcomes of the role will include:
- Mentor and develop our Scrum Teams to ensure work is planned effectively and delivered with transparency and quality
- Guide the Scrum Team in using Agile methodology and Scrum practices, providing coaching where required, supporting agile ceremonies across multiple teams
- Leverage an Agile mindset to drive the Agile transformation across the teams
- Manage risks and issues proactively, work with the team to resolve blockers and provide timely communication with external dependencies
- Identify critical success factors and implement improvements in methods and workflows accordingly
- Responsible for coordination between all the actors, establishing positive relationships improving transparency and collaboration
- Support the Scrum Teams with various reporting artefacts including velocity tracking, retrospective action tracking, burndown charts and Sprint Reports
- Contribute to the Engineering Services centre of excellence for Agile, Scrum and Kanban documentation, providing training and thought leadership blogs for the wider business
About you:
• Ideally a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a similar field with a strong affinity to IT topics, but this is not essential as we value knowledge and skills over qualifications in this role
• Strong experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in a software development environment including backend and frontend
• Have proven organizational and servant-leadership skills in effectively managing and coaching cross-functional and distributed Agile teams including Stakeholders
• Excel at liaising between business and technical areas and at building cooperative and sustainable relationships within the Teams
• Bring in-depth and broad knowledge in Agile Practices and Principles and a proven record in facilitating teams moving from a classical Project Management Approach to an Agile one
• Showcase excellent communication and moderation skills both verbal and written in English
• Demonstrate solid analytical and problem resolving skills, a well structured and proactive approach to situations reflecting business, technical and organizational context
• Demonstrate the ability to take a holistic approach towards achieving business objectives where you will be required to pivot seamlessly from high level to granular detail, in a complex and dynamic environment
• Be a creative thinker, always thinking “how can we”
• Show a strong desire to succeed and make a difference
Experience and skills that will help you succeed:
- Scrum certification and/or other relevant training courses
- Working knowledge of Agile software like Jira, Confluence, or Miro
- Experience working in global organization with diverse and remote teams
- Experience with Domain and Hosting industry beneficial

The Process
Our process will consist of an initial phone screen conversation over video via Google Meet with a member of our People team to make sure your expectations of the role are aligned with the business needs. There will then be the first round which will be a competency-based interview with the Hiring Manager and a member of the team.
We aim to keep you informed throughout the process so we will be communicative and transparent throughout (which also happens to be one of our company values)! ☺
Location
